The world is a confusing place right now. We believe that faithful proclamation of the gospel is what our hostile and disoriented world needs. Do you believe that too? Help TGC bring biblical wisdom to the confusing issues across the world by making a gift to our international work.
Introducing You’re Not Crazy: Gospel Sanity for Young Pastors, a new podcast hosted by Ray Ortlund and Sam Allberry. Throughout their discussions, Ray and Sam point young pastors back to the simplicity of gospel doctrine—which creates a healthy gospel culture within the church. Navigating the tough, common issues young pastors might face—from spiritual burnout to resenting ministry altogether—Ray and Sam tie each episode together with gospel hope and practical encouragement.
As recipients of the grace of Jesus, how can pastors then see that grace express itself outwardly—shaping church, ministry, and relationships? Considering it a privilege to serve their listeners, Ray and Sam want to say, “You’re not crazy.”
Sam Allberry: Hi I’m Sam Allberry. I’m with Ray Ortlund and I’m excited to let you know about a new podcast we’re going to be launching every soon called You’re Not Crazy: Gospel Sanity for Young Pastors. We’ll be over the course of a few episodes trying to explain why if you’re a young pastor you will want to see a connection between the grace of God received in Jesus and seeing that grace then express itself and shape and define the kind of church you are operate in, the kind of relationships we have in our churches.
Ray Ortlund: Gospel doctrine creates gospel culture. And this is especially helpful I think to any young pastor who sometimes—let’s be honest—is tempted to give up, is tempted to even hate the ministry, and is wondering “What on earth have I signed up for? How do I get out of here? Why do I resent what I do? Am I in danger of no longer believing in this ministry?” And we would like the privilege of serving you and putting fresh heart into you because you’re not crazy.
Is there enough evidence for us to believe the Gospels?
In an age of faith deconstruction and skepticism about the Bible’s authority, it’s common to hear claims that the Gospels are unreliable propaganda. And if the Gospels are shown to be historically unreliable, the whole foundation of Christianity begins to crumble.
But the Gospels are historically reliable. And the evidence for this is vast.
